Crockett County CCSD calls $20 million with NO PROJECTED TAX INCREASE!
For Immediate Release:
The Crockett County CCSD proposes a $20 million bond with NO PROJECTED TAX INCREASE that our community members will vote on in November.
In November, voters will see two bond-related propositions on their ballots. Proposition A, seeking $18 million, will not only build a new Softball Field and renovate the existing Baseball Field but also bring renovations to all school facilities, including addressing additional safety mandates, updated HVAC systems, renovated Davison Gym restrooms, the Heritage Building, and the OES Library and the purchase of route school buses and vehicle rotation.
Proposition B asks for $2 million for fencing along the service road for safety and privacy, of the district’s teacher housing, continuing renovating teacher housing, and general housing maintenance over five years.
Superintendent Raul Chavarria has confirmed that there will be NO PROJECTED TAX INCREASE if the bond passes. This is a result of the district’s efforts to lower the tax rate and pay off Bonds early, saving millions in interest. "The district has been able to lower our tax rate and continue to pay off our Bonds early." Superintendent Chavarria states.
Crockett County CCSD residents will have the opportunity to vote on both bond referendums. Early voting will take place from October 21 to November 1, 2024, and Election Day is set for November 5, 2024.
