Lions easily dispatched Van Horn on
Tuesday, 18-2.
Lions got on the board in the first inning after Jacoby Ramos doubled, scoring two runs.
Lions scored six runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning. Michael Daniels doubled, scoring two runs, JP Garza singled, scoring two runs, and Trey Preddy tripled, scoring two runs.
Lions scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning. An error scored two runs, Preddy singled, scoring one run, Seth Childress doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.
Lions added to their lead with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning thanks to home runs by Garza and Childress.
Garza earned the win for Lions. The southpaw allowed three hits and two runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out seven and walking none. Hudson Fowler threw two innings of zero-run ball for Lions in relief. The right-handed pitcher allowed zero hits, striking out two and walking none.
Lions piled up 10 hits in the game. Childress led Lions with four runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day.
Preddy went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Lions in hits. Garza and Ramos each collected multiple hits for Lions. Christian Villarreal stole two bases.
Lions play at home on Friday against
Eldorado in their next game.
