Michael Daniels collected three hits in four at bats, as Lions defeated Christoval 11-5 on Friday March 22nd. Daniels doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the fifth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.
Lions rallied for the victory despite trailing 5-0 in the fourth.
Christoval got on the board in the top of the first inning after Ben McCann homered to center field, Jace Cobb singled, Kolter Fulk singled, and Aiden Medrano walked, each scoring one run.
Lions flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth, scoring five runs on three hits to take a 7-5 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Daniels on a 3-0 count that drove in two.
Seth Childress earned the win for Lions. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and five runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out 10 and walking three. McCann took the loss for Christoval. The starting pitcher went five and two-thirds innings, allowing nine runs (six earned) on six hits, striking out five and walking three. JP Garza collected the save.
Christian Villarreal collected two hits for Lions in three at bats. Villarreal and Daniels each stole multiple bases for Lions. Lions ran wild on the base paths, collecting eight stolen bases for the game. Lions turned two double plays in the game.
